Educational Pearls:

  • Children under age of 6 are at greatest risk of accidental nicotine overdose from ingestion.
  • Biphasic presentation:
    • Hyperadrenergic = nausea, vomiting, tachycardia, flushing.
    • Bradycardia and respiratory depression.
